Work-Life Balance and Diversity

Work-Life Balance Initiatives

Childcare Leave

Employees may take childcare leave until their child turns one year old. Under certain circumstances, the leave period may be extended up to two years.
In recent years, the number of male employees taking childcare leave has been increasing.

Nursing Care Leave

Employees may take nursing care leave for up to one year.

Shortened Working Hours for Childcare

Employees may shorten their working hours by up to two hours per day until the beginning of their child’s first year of elementary school (March 31 following their sixth birthday).
Up to one hour per day may be shortened until the beginning of their child’s first year of junior high school (March 31 following their twelfth birthday).

Flexible Working Hours (Flextime System)

A flextime system is available for administrative employees.
Employees may set their working hours flexibly as long as they work at least one hour during the core time between 8:00 and 17:00.

Paid Leave

Paid leave may be taken in half-day units. Employees are encouraged to plan and submit leave requests at the beginning of each fiscal year to promote the systematic use of paid leave.

Accumulated Leave

Unused annual paid leave that expires after two years may be accumulated up to a maximum of 40 days (up to 5 days per year). Accumulated leave may be used for illness, nursing care, caregiving, or childcare.

Refresh Leave

Every five years of continuous service, employees are granted special leave and a subsidy. Both the number of leave days and the subsidy amount increase with years of service.

Birthday Leave

Employees may take a day off on their birthday. If the birthday falls on a holiday or if business circumstances prevent taking leave on that day, another day-off may be taken within the employee’s birthday month

No‑Overtime Day

Every Friday is designated as a No‑Overtime Day

Telework (Work from Home)

Employees in administrative departments may choose to work from home depending on their personal circumstances.

Work Interval System

To help maintain employee health and ensure sufficient personal time, employees are required to have at least 10 hours of rest between the end of one workday and the start of the next.

Diversity

Creating a Supportive Environment for Women

In addition to offering maternity and childcare leave, we have fostered a workplace culture where employees can take such leave with confidence—reflected in a 100% utilization rate.
Many women return to work under flexible arrangements such as shortened working hours, enabling them to balance work and family responsibilities over the long term.
Although the overall number remains limited, several women hold managerial positions and play active roles within the company.
To further expand opportunities for women, we provide career‑design training and other programs to support their professional growth.

Embracing Employee Diversity

At our Okayama and Hiroshima plants, we welcome technical intern trainees. They are highly motivated, positive, and proactive in communicating with colleagues, bringing fresh perspectives and energy to our workplace.
We have established a robust support system to ensure that trainees gain valuable skills and experience during their three‑year training period.
As of October 31,2024, we also employ 46 foreign nationals.

Support for Employees with Disabilities

We work closely with families and workplaces to understand each employee’s individual needs and characteristics. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment where employees with disabilities can work comfortably and confidently.

Comeback Hiring Program

We have introduced a “Comeback Hiring Program” that allows former employees—who worked with us for at least three years and left due to career changes, education, childcare, caregiving, or other personal reasons—to rejoin the company and continue their careers.
